We are regularly asked the following questions, and we hope you find it helpful to answer them here for you.

Q. Will a stairlift fit on my stairs?
Normally Yes, but we wont provide a recommendation until we have carried out a thorough survey, this takes about an hour. We ensure that there is enough space at the top and bottom of the stairs so you can safety get on and off, and take measurements to check that you wont rub your legs on the bannisters. Yours and your families safety is paramount.

Q. There is a radiator / socket near the bottom of the stairs, will it be a problem?
No, we can include to resite it, or cap it off depending what is most appropriate.

Q. My walls are plasterboard and not very secure, is this a problem?
No, a stairlift screws into the tread of the staircase and doesn't fix to the wall.

Q. I have a doorway at the foot of the stairs, will it be blocked?
No, we offer lifts for both straight and curved staircases that can overcome this by using a hinged or motorised track. This can also be automatic so at the touch of a button a small section of track folds up out of the way - its very easy and removes this problem.

Q. Will a stairlift use much electricity?
No, stairlifts are very cheap to run, it is said that they cost no more each month than it costs to boil a kettle a couple of times!

Q. I am worried that I might get stuck if I have a powercut, will my stairlift stop working?
No, all new stairlifts are battery operated, and charge up when they are parked (not in use) so if you suffer a powercut it will continue to operate until power is restored - you should be able to use the lift about 10 times without worry.

Q. How long does it take to install?
All stairlifts are fitted in only a few hours, the work is clean and not very noisy.
We always provide a very thorough hand-over to you making certain that you are happy with the lift and confident in using it.
